Even the most die-hard Warrior Baseball fan had to feel a little queasy about being down 4-2 with one out in the bottom of the sixth against North Pocono. Earlier, a bases clearing double by the Trojan's TJ Melliand put North Pocono up 4-2 in the top of the fourth--erasing a Warriors 2-1 lead.
After Cody Nowicki grounded out to lead off the sixth, Dylan Maloney drew a walk and Sam Eramo followed with a single up the middle. Anthony Bellino ran a full count, and drew another walk-- which loaded the bases. Matt Carroll then hit a flyball down the left field line that fell between the third baseman and the left fielder scoring Maloney and Eramo, knotting the game at 4. PJ Bone then hit a soft grounder to the shortstop who overthrew first base, scoring Bellino.
Andre Harris started on the mound for the Warriors, giving up seven hits and striking out three in 4 2/3 innings. Chris Murphy came on in relief and shut down North Pocono for 2 1/3 innings and gave up no hits. A popup to third baseman Ryan Carey ended the game.
Matt Carroll and Sam Eramo led the Warriors with two hits each. Carroll, Bone, and Bellino each picked up RBI--with Carroll's 2 run hit in the sixth being the big blow of the game.
The Warriors live to play at Tunkhannock next Tuesday in the District II semifinals.
